Information Compression

I attended two museums today. Both had exhibits about the history of communication.

I found it interesting that man has progressively gotten better at compressing information into easier ways to manipulate and share

• Soft: Speech > Symbols > Alphabet > Morse code > computers
• Transmission: cave drawings > stone tablets > papyrus > paper > phonograph/tape/wire recorder > video > computers
